I'm a criminal who can't be free I put things in my pocket when you don't see Away away away they go For 2 cents on the dollar they soon will be sold One day I'll be a frail/old woman Still learning my right from wrong A confused frail/old woman Hiding from fire in the trees To be free it's understood Resist temptation when times are good

Baby I know lately Iʼve been out of control I just want to fight with you to hear your voice echo through my mind Thatʼs where I find Iʼm not alone But I want to make you wonder what might have been and what could be Kickin nʼ beatin, lovin nʼ dreamin, kissing and shoutin When the walls come down I may be miles and miles away Iʼm sorry you built them so high, out of the memories she wears upon her face I know sheʼll never be replaced But I want to make you wonder what might have been and what could be Kickin nʼ beatin, lovinin nʼ dreaming, kissing and shoutin Kickin nʼ beatin, lovinin nʼ dreaming, kissing and shoutin

Clowns 03:17
Do you remember the 9th of September, do you remember the time Do you remember the leaves were yellow, do you remember I cried Do the remember the night was calling, do you remember I bowed Do you remember the sky as itʼs falling, do you remember your proud Do you remember the makeup we were wearing, do you remember my face Do you remember my back as itʼs turning, all white covered in lace Clowns they do sing a familiar song, paint it all on with white Lost in the distance your mouth is still smiling, cover it all up with the night Clowns they do sing a familiar song, paint it all on with white Lost in the distance your mouth is still smiling, cover it all up with the night Do you remember the 9th of September, do you remember the time Do you remember the leaves were yellow, do you remember I died

County Line 04:18
I walk this old county line Lookin for something I lost along the way I canʼt find you, I canʼt find you Took a train to the East Set my eyes to feast upon you When I got to your town, all I found was your essence on the ground oh oh Claudio x4 Like a trail of breadcrumbs I follow you down x2 Took an airplane to the south Knew youʼd be in a different house Couldnʼt bring myself to see, scared what would become of me oh oh Claudio x4 Like a trail of breadcrumbs I follow you down x2 I walk this old county line Lookin for something I lost along the way I canʼt find you

Storyteller 02:25
Say its your birthday you aristocrat Say its a number and your punishing the fact That you'll be Say its a life and call it at that Say your career manipulate the fact that your free Twenty I can be the storyteller You can be the story Tell you tails of dragon slaying Kings romancing glory Power is a dangerous thing Facilitate the things that it brings Say that its there but it can't be seen A reference to the bible Just another hopeful dream I scream How easy it all seems I can be the storyteller You can be the story Tell you tails of dragon slaying Kings romancing glory Power is a dangerous thing Facilitate the things that it brings For glory is just a toy in eyes in babys' when their young Who choose their lies and prophesies using a different tongue So brush your teeth and comb your hair for all our work is done Power is a dangerous thing And all the beautiful things that it brings I can be the storyteller You can be the story Tell you tails of dragon slaying Kings romancing glory Power is a dangerous thing Facilitate the things that it brings

Trigger 05:05
Iʼve got my finger on the trigger but somehow youʼre still alive x2 Well my feet were bruised and hollow when I ran into morning today And my hands were heavy in sorrow for Iʼd given my Daniel away Gave him away x3 Iʼve got my finger on the trigger but somehow your still alive x2 Shady lane, my memory By the lilly pond waters a woman waits for me she waits for me x3 Iʼve got my finger on the trigger but somehow youʼre still alive x2

Blue Sheets 03:49
Iʼve got a hole in my foot I can walk fine I can walk but a crooked line Youʼve got a hole in your knee From which you bleed All your catastrophes Nʼ all I see is blue All I see in blue sheets Iʼve got a lamp in my stomach which helps me see All my philosophies Youʼve got a bulliet in you hand that you caught For the war wasnʼt good enough Nʼ all I see is blue all I see in blue sheets x2
10.
Daymares 03:07
I wake up to be sure I can sleep again I sleep to be sure I can dream I dream so I can be yours one night at a time Your voice is just a message machine When the sun hits the floor I donʼt wake anymore When the sun hits my eyes I will rise Itʼs the part of the day that I truly despise Cause I was dreaming of my sweetie pies eyes So I listen to you mechanically Your voice is just a message machine X2 I wake up to be sure I can sleep again I sleep to be sure I can dream

You needed reason to leave, you needed reason to go back Is it not reason enough, is it not reason enough This wont be epic, cause Iʼm not epic yet I exist without you I see the leaves turn, I feel the wind blowing Yet I will not go To my sailboat, to my sailboat land X2 Iʼll keep a smile on my face, hold my head high and walk with grace For grace she showed me truth, a snapshot back into my youth My youth To my sailboat, to my sailboat land X2 In my youth I saw every lie, and in my lie I saw young men cry and in their tears I saw a woman standing by, and in her hands there I Iay and in her hands there I lay, in her hands there I lay In my sailboat, in my sailboat land X2

about

“Poolside” takes the listener down into the depths of an abandon swimming pool room, hidden in the basement of one of Portland’s historic, downtown hotels. With floor to ceiling tile and an empty concrete pool, the natural sound and acoustics of this room are stunning. Inspired by the sound of the room, Rose decided to record a live album in the space, hence the album name “Poolside”. To minimize interruption from the Max and Streetcars above, Rose and a small crew recorded “Poolside” in the quiet hours, starting at 11pm and ending the sessions around 7am. All of the reverb and sounds that you hear on “Poolside” are untampered with and completely raw. Lance Andrew Leonnig, recording engineer and current bassist for the Ezza Rose Band, captured perfectly the magic of this unique space and its undeniable compatibility with Rose’s haunting voice.

about

Ezza Rose Portland, Oregon

“The progression from folk to something more closely resembling rock has been organic and fluid like the rest of her history, but she is not without a significant amount of stubborn drive. This latest change is just another indicator that Rose is, above all, a consummate musician.” - Anchorage Press ... more
